Dan later moved to California to attend Stanford Business School, where he met SpeedDate’s other cofounder, Simon. Before earning his MBA at Stanford and starting SpeedDate.com, Dan worked as a strategy consultant for IBM Business Consulting Services. While at IBM, he founded SmartVolunteer.org, an Internet service that utilizes the web to match skilled volunteers with nonprofits.
