‘Father of Identity Theft’ Gets 30 Years after being Convicted Of Mail Fraud, and Aggravated Identity Theft  

James Jackson refers to himself as the “Father of Identity Theft.” He preyed upon the recently deceased and using their identities to take over financial accounts and establish new credit. Like most criminals, he was not as smart as he thought and postal inspectors observed him taking possession of credit cards of a recently deceased individual. He was arrested, convicted on 13 counts of access device fraud, theft of mail. In December, he could receive 30 years in prison for Mail fraud and aggravated identity theft when sentenced.
