Plaintiffs in Facebook Class Action Awarded Standing

Plaintiffs in a $35 billion class-action suit against Facebook won their argument proving standing to sue. This lawsuit concerns the collection and storage of millions of users’ biometric data without consent. The biggest reason behind this is the sensitivity of biometric data which if compromised, has no recourse. If a cybercriminal steals your biometric data and starts using your face you can’t simply stop using it and change it. Facebook paid a 5 billion dollar fine last month to settle an FTC data privacy probe — which highlights their lax security.
