What happened: Hackers attempted to break into its computer network, which includes lawmakers’ email archives

When it happened: February 2019

How it happened: Australian Signals Directorate chief Mike Burgess has confirmed data was stolen by a state-sponsored actor during February’s malicious attack against Parliament House.

Outcome: Parliamentarians and their staff have been forced to reset passwords.
The presiding officers said DPS was currently working with the relevant security agencies to investigate the incident​ but stressed there was “no evidence that any data has been accessed or taken at this time”.
