What happened: 2 Student Hackers Arrested

When it happened: Between December 2018 and January 2019

How it happened: Police arrested Bashir from Gopalganj on Thursday and Abir from Chandpur on Friday, the law enforcers said, adding that the two used codenames — FabiHaxor and 4zuc0d3r — respectively and used to work for a hackers’ group named Black Web. The duo hacked various educational and business websites between December 2018 and January 2019, claimed police, adding they recovered 36 gigabytes of files related to hacking from the duo’s computers.

Outcome: Emran Mahmud Tuhin, inspector of Detective Branch of Bogura police, claimed they recovered 3689 website defacements from the Black Web team. The team consists of eight to 10 hackers, he added. ​Police claimed to have recovered two desktops, one laptop and three mobile phones from the arrestees. Police also prayed for a 5-day remand for the duo to a Bogura court which is yet to be heard.
