The company says in a statement users are buying Lion faster than any other OS release in Apple’s history — Lion is the 8th major iteration in the 10-year history of OS X.
Unlike previous operating system releases, the $29.99 Lion arrives as a digital download. “Lion is off to a great start, user reviews and industry reaction have been fantastic,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of worldwide product marketing, in a press release.
