Companies are under attack from Ransomware gangs and are paying a high price.  Cybercriminals who were surreptitiously using business computing resources to mine cryptocurrencies have found that with the huge drop in value it is to their economic benefit to launch Ransomware attacks.  Using these already compromised machines makes it easy to launch an attack and grab their operationally-critical data and lock it up and demanding a high ransom.
