[2016-07-25] NH Today – Celine and Freddie NH1 News
During the hour he had on Ellen Ratner (@EllenRatner) from Talk Media News (@talkmedianews) about the goings on at the Democratic National Convention, as it gets underway and the fall out from the breach of the DNC servers. He also spoke with Dan Tengdin (@tengdin) the Chief Information Officer at Charter Trust (@chartertrust) about the uncertainty in the world and how it affects us financially. After that he was joined by Celine McArthur an investigative reporter with NH1 News who is currently investigating non-disparagement clauses that are now showing up in contracts and how they are having negative effects consumers. Senator John Thune of South Dakota and Senator Brian Schatz introduced the Consumer Review Freedom Act (S. 2044) in 2015 which would reiterate the freedom of speech clause in the First Amendment by outlawing these non-disparalgment clauses in consumer contracts.
It passed the Senate in December 2015 and is now awaiting action in the House. It is important to know that you can be sued by business owners if you are dishonest in your review or make false representations about their business.
