Craig Peterson he’s the man you turn to when your Samsung Galaxy explodes. Joining us now, our good friend Craig Peterson. Good morning, sir.
Hey, good morning. Hey,
I was gonna be, I thought Yahoo was going to be the big story with us today until I started hearing about the galaxy. And we will get to Yahoo. What’s going on.
This is just incredible. I remember reading articles early in the summer, late spring, talking about this wonderful new phone, tablet thing that are was going to be coming out of Samsung. And Samsung was apparently and this was coming out of their many some of the manufacturers chip by companies and things were barely Samsung was really, really racing because they had to meet a September deadline because there’s this other company out there that also makes these smartphones and Samsung wanted to beat and of course, you can guess what company that is
looking right at it. Right.
So they were really, really rushing, trying to make it so that they’d beat the iPhone seven the market and and who can blame them? Yeah, but it turns out that there is a problem that you mentioned this morning. And pretty much everyone knows right now. And that is these original phones, the Samsung Galaxy, these Fs sevens are when initially they were blowing up there catching on fire. And, you know, I was over in Belgium here over at, you know, World Headquarters of UN central right and and you Central and it was kind of interesting over there because getting on the plane coming back. They would not let anyone on the plane that had a Samsung Galaxy seven. Really? Yeah. I was really surprised. We’re asking everyone what kind of a phone Do you have have? And I said an iPhone. She says, Okay. And I said, Well, why are you asking? Well, we’re not letting any Galaxy S holds onto the plane. Yeah, it’s not let me come out of Brussels. So real problem. So people have been saying, Okay, great. Let’s Let’s respond to this. So Samsung jumped right on it and said we will replace any phones that are bad. And then they said okay, we’ll replace all of the phones and and companies like Verizon and at amp T and sprint who were reselling these galaxy f7 phone said bring them back in. will give you a new one will trade them in. And so Samsung started shipping out these new phones. Okay. No phones catching fire. Blow up like old phones. Yeah.
Yeah. Meet the new exploding songs. Same as the old
saying. That’s exactly what was happening. So big, big problem for Samsung. So they’re trying to figure out okay, so do we do now while they just announced that they have halted all production of the Samsung Galaxy f7 it is now Dad, you will not be able to buy any more of these things. And this is costing Samsung. Well north of $1 billion.
It is gone. It is history. And guess who stock is up in futures trading this morning Apple Apple stock.
So so let’s just see. So I’ve got the phone. I’ve got the Samsung Galaxy. What do I do now? Craig? leaders
lead the way.
Craig turn it off immediately do
okay. There’s nothing worse than than having problems. I was talking with a couple of people that work for me, one of whom has this phone and has a friend who has this phone. So what do we do at night, right? With our phones. We plug it in. And this is something I’ve talked about before when it comes to our safety and security. Right. If you have a phone and you bring it home with you every night and you plug it in now the big data people the NSA better know where you live because this phone ends up in the same place every night. Right? Right. So what happens if you plug your phone in and it’s right mix you most people Jim have their smartphone plugin right next to them in case you know, something emergency happens like, you know, our Kardashian event and they’ll they’ll wake up in the middle of the night and they tech so it’s sitting right next to them. So the best friend of one of the people that works for me, she was sleeping with her galaxy.
Yeah, you know where this is going. Oh my god. And it caught fire right next to her head.
So be very, very careful. Samsung is saying turn them off the federal government st turn them off. Do not plug them in. Do not charge them up. So Samsung did get this galaxy S seven to market before the iPhone seven. Yeah, I guess that’s the good news.
Don’t do it. Don’t plug it in, unplug it and take it back. All of these guys. You know I mentioned three Verizon sprint at amp T. If the people that sold you the phone, you can take it in. You can trade it in, you can get a different phone from another manufacturer. Now there are other Android phones. If you’re an Android fan. There are other Android phones out there. But if you’re not particularly touched on Android phones, you know already that I’m a really, really big apple fan. But most people who are Android fans, you might want to wait just a tad here. If you can, obviously don’t keep that at seven. Yeah, like Google’s got a new phone that they just announced called the pixel that is going to be the best Android phone on the market bar none. One of the things I like about it is Google has committed to keeping the security updates done on this phone. So for instance, Apple’s got the new operating system on iOS 10 for the iPhones already 80% of all iPhones in the world have the latest version of Apple software on it, which includes the security updates, Android phones at gym, that just doesn’t happen because they’re all so different. And the manufacturers just don’t release the update. So have a look. Look at the pixel to pixel. So for the time being, borrow your, your wife, your husband, your girlfriend’s phone, your kids phone, right, they got the nice ones. And if you want the Android Have a look at this pixel and pixel s X el. It was just revealed last week talking about a five inch screen on the smaller one, the larger one has a five and a half and they start at about $27 per month for rhizomes going to be the exclusive carrier of this new Google phone. My Samsung Galaxy, it’s gone. It’s a right off and this is really really gonna hurt sametime. Okay.
So you got it. You got to get rid of it. If you’ve got it. Don’t plug it in.
It could cause a fire. All right. We got all that straight. Now, let’s go to Yahoo. Yahoo has been spying on us. But you’re telling me that others have been spying just like yeah,
oh, this is really bad. Jim. First of all, we find out the Yahoo has been hacked. And for the last some number of years, Yahoo has been leaking all of our account information, so usernames, passwords, etc. So if you have a Yahoo account, and you haven’t been listening to Jim, hey, I’m saying don’t use the same account on every service out there, right, you’re in trouble. So rule number one. In this case, you don’t even say go ahead and change your password. I say delete your Yahoo account. Forget about it. It’s over a Yahoo is gone. It’s over. Now, Yahoo, as it turns out, is the only company that I have not apparently major company that has not apparently pushed back on one of these Pfizer court orders because apparently Yahoo got a notice from the feds saying, Hey, we want you to search everyone’s email accounts for accounts that might have this information or that information. We want to know what everyone saying is kind of essentially what what Yahoo was asked for and young who apparently complied and they did not push back unlike most other major vendors out there. So the good news is that they must other guys, particularly Apple are pushing back there is something called a canary that you might want to know a little bit more about. I’ve got information up on my website that talks about what you know what these companies are doing. So the you know, it’s called a warrant Canary. But this is really really really bad. This is worse than we thought and if you got a Yahoo account, delete it move on. Yahoo is over.
Wow. Oh, Samsung Yahoo. Who would have ever thought Craig Peterson folks are Tech Talk guru. Now if you text my name, Jim to this number 855-385-5553. You will get all of this information plus more and you’ll be ahead of the curve because when the Samsung Samsung stuff or Yahoo stuff happens you’ll already know standard data and text rates apply Craig people on thank you so much for your time.
Thanks, Kim. Take care. Alrighty. You heard
Craig Peterson say yeah, Apple stock is up because Samsung is literally crashing and burning. What else is happening in the financial world.
