Cellular Throttling and Why it cost AT&T a Chunk of Change

 

We are all familiar with cell carriers and their different plans — some of which seem to change as fast as the weather in New England.  All of them have some type of an ulimited plan — but the type and number of restrictions placed on these programs vary from carrier to carrier. Many contain fine-print in their contracts that allow them to lmit the amount of highspeed 4G or LTE data you can use and throttle it during periods when the tower you are connected to is in high demand. AT&T got caught because they failed to disclose their practices which some consumers reported making even basic web browsing impossible.
