Why Are We Still Trusting Google?
Can you believe that a technology company that sells companies the ability to use a suite of their services — failed to protect their login credentials?
Yes, that’s right. You pay us, and we will leave your login’s and passwords wholly exposed. Oh and not just a short period but for the last 14 years!
The company that allowed this — none other than Google!
Now, they are forcing their G-Suite customers to change their passwords because they discovered that they had left their previous passwords exposed and vulnerable to attack.
Although they said that the likelihood of an outside attack was low, they have corrected the issue.
My advice is that when you are using these outside systems, be sure to use credentials (login/password) that you ONLY use on that system and never for any other site. That way if it ever is exposed only the information on that single system is vulnerable.
