Dan Abelon is originally from New York, where he earned his bachelor’s degree from Columbia University. Dan later moved to California to attend Stanford Business School, where he met SpeedDate’s other cofounder, Simon. Before earning his MBA at Stanford and starting, Dan worked as a strategy consultant for IBM Business Consulting Services. While at IBM, he founded, an Internet service that utilizes the web to match skilled volunteers with nonprofits.
