Routers and Firewalls with Broadcom Chipsets Are Vulnerable

Have you heard of the router/firewall critical vulnerability called Cable Haunt? Well, for 200 million worldwide users, this could soon be a nightmare come true. Cable Haunt allows a hacker to compromise the router/firewall models of many manufacturers using Broadcom chipsets. This vulnerability will enable them to gain full control over all traffic passing into or out from it, compromising every device on the network it protects. It could lead to re-routing all your traffic to malicious domains or hijacking your system for use in a botnet attack. It exploits the buffer overflow. This vulnerability is part of the reference code within the component chipset for the spectrum analyzer of the router/firewall.
