Business Computers Should Only Be Used For Business

If an employer provides you with equipment, they expect that the computer to be used for work and work only. Many times there will be software installed on these devices that monitors your activities and tracks things like productivity, employee location, and resource usage of these pieces of computer equipment to protect their investment. Many times these systems are used to make employees more productive by helping them stay focused. Additionally, they can be used to reallocate resources, limit distractions, identify problem areas, and increase cybersecurity by allowing businesses to suspicious activity or identify hackers more quickly. It all depends on what type of company you work for, or the kind of work that you do that can determine the type of surveillance and security software installed on your company computer. Be careful to use their equipment for it’s intended use and not to carry out your own activities.
