HR The Gateway To Cybercrime

Today’s cybercriminals are continually developing new and sophisticated techniques with which to gain access to their victim’s internet technology systems. Currently, over 90% of all cybercrime involves a phishing email. We all have heard the warnings and understand the dangers of downloading attachments. However, these enterprising criminals have discovered that HR departments are rather easy to penetrate. Why? They routinely receive dozen of applications with resumes or CVs as attachments each day. So, if a criminal wants to target a specific company for an attack, all they need to do is hide self-loading malware in a resume or CV attachment to a job application.  For companies, be sure to look at this as a weakness in their IT security system.
