Inital projected models for the spread of this novel virus were designed specifically to ramp up fear. Big Tech and Governments are working on ways to try to control the spread of a pandemic that frankly is really not much worse than a bad flu year, They hope to use our smartphones to contact-trace the spread of infection.  This requires that people download the mobile app that would use bluetooth low energy transmissions to reach others using the application. Although, they say these methods will ensure privacy, the drawback is that to really work smartphone users would have to be compelled to participate. US citizens have never allowed themselves to be compelled to participate in anything uniformally. Are we now at the point that we will allow the government to insist that we install a tracking app on our personal smartphones.  I hope that this pandemic has not driven us to the point that we would allow this.
