We have known for quite a while that the Google play store is home to a huge number of malicious apps.  These can range from those that collect your information for marketers, to those who steal your information.  They do not have the same rigorous approval for apps in their store that Apple requires for apps they have in their app store.

With this current pandemic, the situation has gotten much worse.  There are several new apps that are exploiting the desire that people have to get current information on the Coronavirus by placing track-ware into those them.  My suggestion is to not use any apps but to visit either of these organizations websites Center for Disease Control (CDC) or John Hopkins University
