Hi! Thanks for signing up for the Mobile Device Pop-up Training we held on November 1st, 2019.

An important after-thought: SIM jacking has become a real problem for many mobile device users. It’s already been used to steal hundreds of millions of dollars straight out of accounts.

If you’re a T-Mobile subscriber, make sure you ask them to turn on “NOPORT” for your account. This will stop the SIM-Jackers right in their tracks. It’s a hidden feature that the mobile carriers have not publicized. It you don’t have T-Mobile, check with your carrier to see if its an option.

You can watch the replay until November 10th, 2019 here.

You can download my Mobile Security Cheat Sheet I talked about here.

A few attendees asked to be able to see the replay of my VPN pop-up trainging. You can watch the VPN replay here until the 10th as well.

If you’re going to upgrade your home router/wifi, check out the Netgear Orbi Mesh system. There are a number of different models that provide higher levels of security, better coverage, and compact size.

You’ll want to get a version that contains a router and OpenVPN to establish your own VPN server at home or for your Home Office. You will find instructions online on how to configure it and tie it into your mobile devices.

On the official Apple App Store, the client you can download and install for free there is called OpenVPN Connect.

You will also need to install a special client for Android, MacOS, or Windows.

Please don’t share these materials with others.

Thanks again for attending!
